In the face of increased aggression by Hezbollah along Israel’s northern border, the Biden administration is urging restraint and concessions from Israel in the hopes of preventing war. In actuality, Biden’s policies in the region, singularly focused on propping up Iran – Hezbollah’s patron, may very well make war inevitable. Join us for an in-depth discussion of recent events, including the Biden administration’s decision to reverse President Trump’s recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ senior fellow and Middle East expert, Tony Badran who will provide an insightful analysis of the complicated dynamics playing out between the U.S., Israel, Lebanon, and Iran.

About the Speaker: Tony Badran is a research fellow at FDD, where he focuses on Lebanon, Hezbollah, Syria, and the geopolitics of the Levant. Born and raised in Lebanon, Tony has testified to the House of Representatives on several occasions regarding U.S. policy toward Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.
