Connecticut Republican Party I’ll never forget when that bomb went off
<[link removed]>
Today is the anniversary of September 19, 2010, when a Taliban bomb exploded
beneath me.
I lost both my legs and a finger.
Now, I celebrate September 19th as my ALIVE DAY
<[link removed]>
because it’s a miracle that I am alive today.

John,
If you know my story, then you know the significance of my Alive Day.

In case you’d like to learn more about it, let’s relive that fateful day:
In September 2010, I was serving as part of the Joint Special Operations
Command in Afghanistan. We had just acquired the location of a high-value
target and were moving in under the cover of darkness.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang and a bright flash. I was thrown up into the
air. I landed with a thud—the wind knocked out of me. I couldn’t see much with
the soot and dirt covering my eyes, but as I went to wipe the mud away, I
immediately knew my fingers were bent in ways they were not meant to bend.
I remember every moment of the explosion, down to my teeth rattling so hard I
wasn’t sure that they were still in my mouth. The next thing I knew, I was in
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I looked down to the end of my
bed where my feet should have been sticking up, but they weren’t.
As I reflect back on September 19, 2010, it’s clear to me that the fight for
freedom won’t be won unless we all work together.
Just like I’d be dead if my fellow soldiers hadn’t run toward that explosion,
our country stands no chance of surviving if we don’t work together now to
defend liberty and freedom here at home.
I know that we can’t win this fight without your support. Please, will you
have my six and make a donation of any amount to help me keep up the fight for
America First in honor of Alive Day?
