Last week, the DNC -- at President Biden’s direction -- announced they are investing $1.2 million into supporting Democratic VA legislative candidates for the November election.
Here’s why: The upcoming election is the first time since 2021 that all 100 seats of the GOP-held House of Delegates will be on the ballot. And with VA Gov. Glenn Youngkin spending massively to try to flip the VA Senate and deliver a Republican “trifecta” in our Commonwealth, we need to fight back.
But here’s the problem: Even with the DNC’s resources, Democrats are still way behind Gov. Youngkin and his massive campaign war chest, with Republicans outspending Democrats nearly 3 to 1 on the airwaves.
Youngkin has made no secret of the fact that he wants to deliver big for Republicans in this year’s November elections -- then use his success to propel a statewide, or possibly national -- run for office in 2024. We can’t let that happen.
