As a teacher, I see firsthand the effect the gun violence epidemic has on our children. Lockdown drills, where schools simulate what would happen if an armed intruder entered the school, are commonplace. Students immediately assume their roles of pushing furniture in front of doors, covering windows, turning lights off, and crouching quietly in the corner.
This shouldn’t be normal. Our two latest ads draw attention to the fact that our children have been preparing their entire lives for these intruder drills. For many, it’s a question of when, not if, this will happen to them.

We owe it to our kids and neighbors to pass robust, meaningful gun violence prevention legislation and get guns out of our schools.
