Friend, The Biden administration is appealing a federal court ruling that deemed the administration's behavior "arguably the most massive attack against free speech in United States' history."
Put simply—the Biden administration is using Big Tech to silence the voices of Americans.
Are their actions constitutionally protected or a form of government overreach? What do you think? Take our survey and tell us!
Those who speak up and exercise their First Amendment right to disagree with the policies and direction of the government are finding themselves muzzled on social media platforms controlled by companies acting at the behest of the Biden administration.
They claim that those of us willing to speak the truth are engaging in "dangerous" speech or "misinformation."
That's wrong—and it's a clear violation of our right to free speech. That's why Alliance Defending Freedom is supporting the State of Missouri and the State of Louisiana in their lawsuit against the Biden administration. We're helping to hold them accountable for pressuring social media companies to filter, censor, and silence views they disagree with.
Social media platforms can be a wonderful place to have an open dialogue about important issues—think of it as a "digital public square." But that only works if those who want to speak are allowed to say what they believe and aren't prevented from doing so by government officials.
It's clear what the Biden administration wants. Instead of free speech and robust conversation, it wants one voice, one viewpoint, one message. And it is using Big Tech to bring this about.
That's not freedom—it's censorship.
ADF's friend-of-the-court brief highlights that White House officials have admitted to flagging and reporting posts as "misinformation" on Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms. It also shows that the U.S. Department of State—your tax dollars at work—sent hundreds of millions of dollars to a non-profit that in turn funded the so-called "Global Disinformation Index," and that the FBI worked with Twitter to target conservative thought leaders.
These government officials know they can't directly shut down speech. So they tried—successfully in many cases—to get social media companies to do their dirty work for them and censor speech the government doesn't like.
The Biden administration claims there's no violation of free speech here—that calling for restricting speech on Big Tech platforms is a legitimate and important use of their authority. Your voice is important—take our survey and tell us what YOU believe!
