Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.
Protecting Consumer Choice
To implement their extreme New Green Deal agenda, the Biden White House wants to dictate our every move, from the kind of stove we use to the kind of car we drive. Allowing California and the EPA to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles will grow our dependence on China and force Americans into buying expensive electric vehicles they don't want and can't afford.
That's why I joined House Republicans in passing H.R. 1435, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act to prevent the federal government from catering to radical environmentalists. To learn more about H.R. 1435, click here.
I also raised the electric car issue with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm during testimony before the Science, Space and Technology Committee last week. Click here to see my questioning.
Update on Veterans Electronic Health Records
The transition for veterans electronic health records has been a mess. Last week, during hearings in both the Appropriations and Veterans Affairs Committees, I questioned VA leaders on the status and shortcomings of their electronic health records program. Click here to see my questions.
Team Franklin is Coming to Immokalee
Federal bureaucracy can be a nightmare. My team and I can assist with a variety of federal agencies including IRS, Social Security, the VA and more. Our next Mobile Office Hours will be hosted at the Collier County Public Library in Immokalee on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023. Click here to register for an appointment.
