Celebrating Catch the Bus Month with a new ticket offer for under 22s!

Great news - all young people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are now benefitting from new subsidised bus and tram tickets which offer student prices to everyone under 22, regardless of whether they are a student.

It's perfect timing as September is Catch the bus month, and this Friday 22 September is World Car Free Day.

And don't forget to take advantage of the £2 bus fare cap before it ends on 31 October, to be replaced by a new £2.50 fare cap.

Last Chance – Go Greener with a Workplace Travel Grant

Local business, public sector org, charity or other group?

You can get FREE or 75% funded sustainable travel improvements to make it easier to use EVs and bikes as part of the Government's Transforming Cities fund. 

So far scheme has distributed more than half a million pounds locally to help Nottingham businesses go greener, through: 

  • Adding cycling infrastructure such as a cycle shelter and showers, as well as getting e-bikes and e-cargo bikes for your organisation
  • Adding charging points for electric vehicles including all works associated with installing them  

In order to qualify, a business or organisation needs to be based within the Nottingham City boundary. Businesses contribute 25% towards the costs of any scheme, but public-sector, voluntary or charitable groups are fully funded. The deadline for applications is 31 December this year.

More great news for electric Nottingham

We’ve worked with Midlands Connect and 12 other Midlands councils to apply for £39m for our Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network.

The cash is part of the Government's LEVI fund and will increase the number of EV chargers across the region.

Cycling improvements at London Road junction almost complete

Our City Centre Cycle Routes project to improve the junction at London Road/Station Street is complete!

In the next few weeks surfacing works will add arrows and symbols to help guide cyclists, but in the meantime, here's a useful guide to how it works.

St Ann's Well Road cycle corridor - progress report

The St Ann’s Well Road scheme is progressing well and several sections of segregated cycle lane are already open for you to use.

Our teams continue working on other areas, progressing the cycle lane towards the city centre. We expect the scheme to be completed by summer 2024. 

This project is funded by the Active Travel Fund and aims to get help more people cycle safely to school, the shops or other local journeys.

Cinderhill Island Bus Lane project nears completion

Now the resurfacing and lining works are complete, we are nearing closer to the new bus gate being open and operational.

We thank everyone for their patience during the night time road closures which were essential to avoid delays and make sure the scheme was completed in good time.

Travelling to Nottingham's iconic Goose Fair is easy with extra buses and trams put on to get you there smoothly. Don't forget to check if a group ticket could be the cheaper option versus buying individual tickets.
