As we get closer to June 23rd, the stakes are rising every day. We’re only 4 months away from the primary.
We already collected 5% of the signatures we need to get on the ballot. Getting the other 95% means more time knocking on doors and less time calling donors and holding fundraisers. We started this month with the biggest single expense in the campaign, a software tool that makes our canvassing process vastly more efficient, and our goal is to fill the hole this left in our budget by the end of this month.
Many things about our campaign have changed since starting it almost a year ago. But one thing that hasn’t changed: this is about representing everyone in the district. For too long, NY-12 has only been thought of as the richest district in the country; but there’s more to our district than the millionaires who have influenced legislation for so long. It’s time for big money to get out of politics for good. This is the only way everyone in the district can feel the economic empowerment the rich have kept for themselves.
