Next week, Republican candidates for president will be flying into Simi Valley for the second primary debate. Once again, people like Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, and more will try to out-Trump each other, all while desecrating our democratic institutions.

But that’s not where it ends.

In a desperate attempt for attention, Donald Trump is barnstorming our state, too: He will be giving a keynote speech for the California Republican Party before headlining a fundraiser for himself, where tickets are selling for as much as $23,200.

Republicans know the importance of California, which is why they’re all coming to town at the end of this month. As their top villain and favorite punching bag, I have no doubt they’ll lob countless attacks our way.
