NEW | Some Legislators are Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud: “We don’t care about your Choice kids”

Last week, a group of Democrats in the state legislature announced a set of bills that would effectively bring educational choice in Wisconsin to an end. 

While public support for choice is more than 70% of Wisconsinites overall and even a majority of Democrats, some legislators would see the state move in a different direction. 

This bill package would do the following: 

• Phase out the statewide School Choice programs 
• Phase out the Special Needs Scholarship Program 
• Include choice funding on taxes 
• Add a licensure requirement for private school teachers
