Dear Friend,
My name is Scott, and I'll be running barefoot for PETA in the 2020 Boston Marathon on April 20.
Why would I take on such an extreme challenge year after year? Because neglected dogs are suffering, condemned to live chained up and never
allowed indoors as part of a loving family. Today, we have an opportunity to be
their heroes. I've set a goal to raise more money than I ever have before to
help PETA, and I need your help.
Will you please make a special gift right now to support my April 20 barefoot
run for animals and help me raise $20,000?

Every time I train barefoot during a New England winter, I push through bitterly
cold winds, rain, snow, body aches, and soreness, but my discomfort can't
compare to the misery that "backyard dogs" endure. When an owner refuses to let
a dog live indoors, that lonely dog watches as life passes them by. They're
ignored and deprived of the most basic companionship, love, and respect. Without
adequate shelter, many won't survive the bitter winters and scorching summers
that they spend chained outside.
I'm choosing to run in support of PETA for the third year in a row because for
so long I've admired the good that the group does for animals humans have put in
terrible situations. I'm so inspired by the dedication of PETA's fieldworkers
and the lengths that they go to to care for animals. Every time training gets
difficult, I think of the animals in need—and your support—and I push through.
Help me tip the scales in favor of animals today by supporting my barefoot
challenge. I'm determined to raise $20,000 for PETA before I cross the finish line on
April 20. Will you join me by making a special gift right now?

It's a long road to $20,000, but I know that if we all chip in, we can make it
happen together!
Very respectfully,
Scott DeFusco
