Dear Friend of CURE Epilepsy,
As we enter the second half of our 25th year, I am in awe of the incredible scientific progress CURE Epilepsy has driven, the supportive community that has formed and grown, and the exciting discoveries that both young and established investigators continue to make. I am excited to share a very special impact report ([link removed]) with you, one that not only introduces our latest grantees but also looks back on all the progress over our organization’s history and showcases the leadership, collaboration and innovation that have combined to change the conversation from living well to finding a cure for epilepsy.

Highlights from this milestone 25th-anniversary issue of ReSearching to CURE Epilepsy ([link removed]) include:
* A spotlight on our founder, Susan Axelrod, and the deep, personal impact she has had on the community at large
* A timeline of the organization’s progress over the past 25 years, from the funding of our first two grants in 2000 to the launching of our PTE Astrocyte Biomarker Initiative earlier this year
* Stories of and updates from those living with epilepsy from throughout our history
* A summary of our SUDEP research breakthroughs, including the establishment of a potential genetic link between epilepsy and sudden death in children and the formation of the first registry of SUDEP data
* A look back on milestone moments of community over time, including photos and highlights from our 25th Anniversary Gala in Chicago this past May

We are unrelenting in our drive to achieve our vision: a world without epilepsy. We cannot make the necessary investments in epilepsy research to attain this goal without donor support. I hope you will consider making a gift ([link removed]) today to join our effort and bring us closer to a cure ([link removed]) . As we all know, where there is research, there is hope.

With continued gratitude,

Beth Dean
