MY PRIORITIES:
-Memphis needs a candidate who can work across party lines. We don't need someone who is loyal to party above people. We need someone who will represent all people and negotiate with the state legislature to secure money and create more opportunities for Memphis. I believe I’m the only candidate with the skill and background necessary to negotiate for what we deserve.
-Memphis needs someone who can move the needle on crime. Let's face it - the current approach to crime-fighting isn't working. So why would we double down on candidates who are a part of the problem? I understand the need for a firm stance to hold criminals accountable in the short term and the importance of early intervention and mental health assistance when looking at long-term solutions. Additionally, I will work with the courts to get tough on crime and use data and technology to be smart on crime prevention.
-Memphis needs a leader with a clear vision for the future. Now is not the time to look back in reflection; it is the time to run toward what is possible. In my current role, I’ve fought to create meaningful change for South City, Historic Melrose, Liberty Park, Tillman Cove and Downtown. He knows how investment and economic development work and how to develop public-private partnerships to fuel our forward momentum.
-Memphis needs stronger neighborhoods. Over my career, I have a proven track record of building better communities. I am ready to take on the issues of poverty, crime, disinvestment, and blight. With an advanced degree in Urban Planning, I understand the importance of protecting neighborhood anchors and instilling community pride. I also recognize that every neighborhood matters when creating a strong city and I’m ready to do the work to develop the strengths in each of our communities.
-Memphis needs a leader who isn’t involved in cronyism politics. I’ve repeatedly affirmed on the campaign trail that I will not promise hires or fires. Our grassroots campaign has more individual donors than all of the other top candidates combined. I will represent the people of Memphis and not special interests.
-Memphis needs a leader with a bold new perspective. As the only leading candidate who hasn’t been elected to public office, I represent a changing of the guard. It’s time for a bold, new class of Memphis leadership.
This is what I’m running on - and this is what I’m fighting for. It’s clear that our message is resonating, but with Early Voting open, we have to keep the foot on the gas.
Let’s go!!
