National Domestic Workers Alliance
============================
John — BIG news for domestic workers in California :
A critical bill to advance the rights and protections for nannies, housecleaners and care workers was approved in the California state assembly last week – and now it heads to California Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk for signing!
The bill will permanently end the exclusion of domestic workers from health and safety protections, and implement health and safety practices for domestic workers in California.
We are now just one signature away from a huge step forward for domestic workers in California – and we need your help to get across the finish line.
Governor Newsom is reportedly eyeing a run for President in the future, which means he cares about his national public image and he'll take notice if people around the country tell him this is a bill he must support.
John — can you take just 30 seconds to send a message urging Governor Newsom to sign this bill ASAP?

The Health and Safety for All Workers Act will end the exclusion of domestic workers from health and safety protections, fund the growth of current domestic worker and employer education, and offer aid to low-income domestic employers for health and safety costs, like protective gear and ergonomic support.
Without these same protections that other workers have, California's domestic workers will continue to endure exploitation, isolation, and life-threatening workplace conditions.
Everyone deserves a safe workplace, and Governor Newsom’s signature can help make that happen for tens of thousands of domestic workers in California. Add your voice to urge him to sign this critical bill ASAP.

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
