It’s go time, friends.
Public Citizen’s February fundraising deadline — see my note from yesterday, copied below in case you missed it, for more about that — is upon us.
My team tells me we need a minimum of 435 donations TODAY to have a fighting chance of finishing the month where we need to be.
Can I count on you?
Please donate now.
Thank you!

Donald Trump is a disaster.
A racist, misogynist, narcissistic, corrupt, fascistic disaster.
But he didn’t just materialize out of thin air.
The ascendency of Trump and Trumpism was the twisted outcome of severe wealth and income inequality combined with a corroded political system beholden to billionaires and Big Business.
Yet for all the corruption and chaos, look at what you and Public Citizen have done together to limit the damage Trump could do:
- Filing dozens of lawsuits to block Trump’s attempts to take our country backwards.
- Preventing retrograde executive orders, like one that would have allowed tax-exempt churches and charities to become conduits for even more of the dark money poisoning our elections.
- Booting three of Trump’s Cabinet officials from positions they were never qualified for in the first place.
- Introducing legislation in Congress to advance progressive ideals, restore sanity to campaign finance rules, fight Big Pharma’s price gouging, win Medicare for All, and much more.
Of course, in the wake of Mitch McConnell’s absurd simulation of an impeachment trial, Trump is still further emboldened.
So now is not the time for Public Citizen — that’s you and me and hundreds of thousands of supporters all across America — to give in or give up.
Which is why our February fundraising deadline is as critical as any we’ve ever faced.
Simply put, I need you to chip in today.
Anything you can give — $5 or $25, $50 or $500, $100 or $1,000 — will make a difference as we continue standing up to Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Fox News and the other forces trying to destroy our country.
Please donate right now.
Thank you so much for whatever you can contribute.
Onward,
- Robert Weissman, President of Public Citizen
P.S. If you can, please consider joining our popular Monthly Giving program so we can count on having a baseline level of resources to keep fighting.
