🔥RAISE THE WAGE RENTON UPDATE! 🔥

📣We have less than 2 weeks left to transfer a MASSIVE $90 million EVERY YEAR from the corporate elite to the working class, especially the most marginalized minimum wage workers! THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE TO QUALIFY FOR THE BALLOT! 📣

HOW MUCH TIME DO WE HAVE LEFT?⏰

  • It depends on how long it takes the county to validate all of our signatures.
  • If we don't have enough (which we probably still will not), they'll give us a 10-day window to submit another batch of signatures.
  • Last time they took 18 days, but we suspect they might move a little bit faster this time around.
  • Our best guess is that including the 10-day window, the FINAL DEADLINE will be sometime between September 20th and September 27th!
  • To hit our target of 4,000 raw signatures and provide cushion for rejected signatures, we need to collect another 1,700 signatures!

📝 SAVING SIGNATURES! 📝

  • Can't make it down to Renton? Want to help out remotely? We have a plan for you!
  • Signatures are invalidated because signatures don't match the voter file, signers weren't registered to vote, or a signer's signature expired!
  • We have a team of volunteers contacting these folks and working with them to save those signatures!

At this month's Chapter Membership Meeting we'll hear a full report from Tacoma DSA leaders about their two promising electoral fights: To elect Tacoma's first Black socialist to City Council and a ballot initiative to pass the strongest tenant protections in Washington State!

This is also the perfect meeting for members looking to plug-in to our chapters' work more. The Member Engagement Committee walks everyone through the newly-updated Jobs Board, to match your skills and interests to the needs of our committees and working groups.
