Keyanna Michelle Jones: Cop City is a $90 million+ militarized police training facility to be placed right in the middle of a very Black residential neighborhood, destroying 381 acres of forest land and disturbing an important watershed. The state is seeking to repress resistance not only with RICO and domestic terrorism charges, but with the way they show up and respond as officers. We're talking about the fact that they were specifically going after the Bail
Fund because it was the money of the movement and if they could stop the Bail Fund, they could stop the movement. What happens when they attacked the Bail Fund? Their hope is that the Bail Fund would be bankrupt. If we don't do something, Cop City will not be the end of police terror in Atlanta or in this nation.
Sam Goldman: You’ll hear in the interview that with the construction of Cop City we are seeing a full-forced fascist campaign of extralegal police repression; outlawing of ideas and the simple act of organizing for the common good; criminalization of stating established facts, and the capricious rewriting of the law. DeSantis might be getting jealous.
