In Antarctica, scientists logged temperatures of nearly 70 degrees on the once-frozen landscape this month — the hottest temperature ever recorded there.

The climate crisis has led to so much melting at the South Pole that if we don't make major changes to reverse course, the giant ice sheet will lead to catastrophic global sea level rise.
