Mary Gay Scanlon for Congress

When I ran for Congress in 2018, I was looking forward to making progress on the issues that matter most – restoring our rights, protecting Americans from gun violence with commonsense solutions, jobs, and addressing climate change.

I didn’t expect to be part of a firewall protecting our democracy from the House GOP’s chaos and extremism, but five years later, that’s exactly where I find myself.

This year, House Republicans have consistently given us more of the same: partisan games aimed at impeaching the President of the United States and taking away abortion rights nationwide while House Democrats are working hard to defend our rights and end child poverty.

There is no question in my mind that we must do everything we can to challenge Republicans in leadership, or we risk losing even more progress to their regressive ideas, incompetence, and partisan gameplay.

In just over a week, we have a Federal Election Commission (FEC) fundraising deadline. Our publicly reported numbers will be used by GOP strategists and potential opponents looking for seats to target — we have to show them just how strong Team Scanlon is!
