John, gun violence is a national crisis. It's also an intensely
local issue.

In cities across the country, community-based violence intervention
organizations are doing the hard work to combat this crisis. They lead
with people-powered strategies that work—including street outreach,
hospital-based violence interventions, youth development, survivor
counseling and more.

They're also in need of immediate support to continue their life-saving
work.

That's why we created the Everytown Community Safety Fund. In a few short
years, we've become the largest national initiative solely dedicated to
fueling their efforts.

And now I'm proud to share that we're taking that support even further.
We're awarding $2.35 million in new funding to 35 community-based violence
intervention organizations across the country! That includes first-time
funding to 20 organizations, as well as sustainer grants to 15 existing
grantees!

Support for community-based violence intervention organizations has never
been more important. In so many cases, these organizations are the ones
doing the most difficult work that's needed to save lives.

They're doing some of the most difficult work that's needed to stop this
crisis.

And together, we've made more of a difference than I ever dreamed
possible.

Since 2019, we've granted $10.6 million to 117 community-based violence
intervention organizations in more than 67 cities. We're also not alone:
Over the last year, we've seen historic investment in community-based
violence intervention programs at the federal, state, and local levels.

This funding is nothing short of live-saving. It enables these
organizations to sustain their work, help more people, and break cycles of
violence that have devastated their communities for generations. They
deserve nothing less than our full support as a movement.

Thank you for helping build this movement with us. Today wouldn't be
possible without gun safety advocates like you.
