Millennial Action Project (MAP) will honor and recognize the work of outstanding state legislators from its State Future Caucus Network (SFCN) during its sixth annual Rising Star Award ceremony to be held December 12, 2023 in Washington, DC. Rising Star Awards celebrate MAP’s expanding network of more than 1,600 impassioned state lawmakers who have gone above and beyond to bridge divides and bring about meaningful change in advancing policies that uplift their communities.

These distinguished MAP awards celebrate and honor leaders who take the lead in guiding post-partisan legislation that tackles pressing issues in today’s political landscape. Awardees are selected based on their active involvement with MAP and their efforts in identifying opportunities to promote political collaboration within their respective state.
-- The Rising Star Award will be presented to young leaders who have made significant contributions to the SFCN — one Republican and one Democrat . The award is a testament to their embodiment of MAP’s mission of transcending political divisions. Nominate a young legislator for the award here [[link removed]] .
-- MAP will also present the Cherisse Eatmon Collective Impact Award to an outstanding Future Caucus that has demonstrated exemplary leadership and political bridge-building. Nominate a Future Caucus for this award here [[link removed]] .

Nominee criteria includes:
-- A Commitment to MAP: Demonstrated commitment to working with MAP through participation in MAP events, local Future Caucus meetings and events, and engagement with our digital content and message.
-- Bipartisan Leadership Ability: Showcased leadership by championing and guiding bipartisan legislation, convening and fostering consensus among diverse stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to promote cooperation within their legislature.
-- Measurable Outcome: Evident impact in moving policy forward on issues disproportionately affecting younger generations and all constituents, demonstrated through legislative progress and engagement with state task forces and legislative committees.
-- Embodiment of the MAP Ethos: Living out MAP values as Leaders, Teammates, and Explorers who: listen first, say “we,” build trust, empower others, break barriers, and innovate freely.
While some may question the ability of leaders to collaborate, our Future Caucuses serve as living proof that post-partisan action is not only attainable but successful in reshaping the landscape of contemporary politics.
