The Bakari Sellers Podcast

Michael had a fun time catching up with his friend Bakari Sellers and sharing the Robert Smalls story with his podcast audience.

As Michael runs for the same congressional seat that his great-great-grandfather once held, he's inspired every day by Robert Smalls' groundbreaking record of service to South Carolina and the country.

Last month, Charleston experienced its hottest August on record — and so did eight other cities across the Southeast.

As the next representative from SC-01, Michael will take swift action to protect our coastal communities from the threat posed by climate change.

Michael had the opportunity to meet with the Charleston County Democratic Women, and they couldn't agree more: SC-01 deserves a representative who will invest in our children's education, enshrine women's reproductive freedoms, and bring down costs for working families.

Michael enjoyed a scoop of ice cream with the wonderful South Carolina Women for Biden-Harris. Sometimes, life on the campaign trail can feel like a Rocky Road. But our passionate Lowcountry neighbors remind us that the future of SC-O1 looks pretty sweet.

Michael rung in National Hispanic Heritage Month with friends at "Fiesta on the Square" in Summerville. He ate some fantastic beef empanadas, danced to a few old-school Salsa favorites, and celebrated the incredible diversity of our Lowcountry community.

There's so much work to do, and we're only just getting started.
