John,
In his most sweeping attack yet, President Donald Trump is trying to gut America's first major conservation law, the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. We need your help to stop him.
NEPA is as powerful as it is simple. It requires all agencies within the federal government to analyze and disclose the environmental impacts of their proposed actions. And it requires them to involve the public in that process.
But new rules implementing the law would cut out the public, skip climate analyses, exempt some actions from oversight, and even let polluters write their own reviews. The rule would apply to mining, drilling and logging on public lands — as well as new dams, highways and pipelines.
This is a radical, dangerous rollback designed to reward industry and developers. We can't overstate the potential for harm to people and wildlife.
Please take action today to demand that the Trump administration immediately withdraw this dangerous new rule and keep the public's role in decision-making.
