We are delighted to share two new pieces of research out from Fawcett this week.

Since 2014, close to 100 recommendations, spanning 36 themes, have been made to 29 bodies on how to improve gender equality in Parliament. Open House: Where Next for Gender Equality in Parliament is a new report from the APPG for Women in Parliament and the first ever audit of a decade's worth of reports into gender equality in the UK Parliament.

3.5 million people in the UK are affected by infertility. Paths to Parenthood; Navigating Fertility at Work is a new study from Fawcett, in partnership with TotalJobs, to explore how employers can better support women's careers and create fertility-friendly workplaces.

We can only perform our critical research projects with support of Fawcett members. Join Fawcett today and become a part of our movement towards a more equal future.

Open House: Where Next for Gender Equality in Parliament is the first ever audit of a decade's worth of reports into gender equality in the UK Parliament.

This report shows that 92 recommendations have been made to improve gender equality in Parliament, spanning 36 themes, and to 29 different bodies since 2014. Just four of those 36 groups have been fully addressed.

This report from the APPG on Women in Parliament was prepared by researchers from Fawcett and the Global Institute for Women's Leadership.

"At Fawcett, we believe in workplaces that work for all women, at every stage of our careers and lives. This report shows unequivocally that women, and especially minoritised women, feel the impact of fertility treatment on their ability to progress at work, but that supportive workplaces can make a huge difference."
Jemima Olchawski, Chief Executive of the Fawcett Society

Paths to Parenthood: Navigating Fertility at Work shows the impact that workplaces can have on employees accessing fertility treatments. Four in five women (80%) claim it's important for workplaces to facilitate open and safe conversations around fertility.

This guide for employers, produced in partnership with TotalJobs, shows just how important it is to create fertility-friendly workplaces, and makes recommendations for employers and government on just how it can be done.
