FIRST:
A Supreme Court ruling in June opened the door for congressional maps across the country to be redrawn before the 2024 election. According to FiveThirtyEight, so many gerrymandered maps could be struck down that “this decision could be the difference between Republican and Democratic control of the House.”
THEN:
Republicans have made it clear that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to keep their gerrymanders in place.
According to experts, the ruling could impact maps in more states across the country, including Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and others.
SO NOW:
President Obama is calling on our grassroots movement to take urgent action!

President Obama is right, team.
Our grassroots movement has proven that, when we work together, we have the power to defeat GOP efforts to undermine our democracy. In fact, ahead of the 2022 election, the NDRC’s work helped secure what the New York Times called “the fairest House map of the last 40 years.”
That means we have two options:
OPTION 1: WE KEEP FIGHTING
By continuing our work across the country, we could have the opportunity to secure even fairer maps before the 2024 election. We’ll go into the November election knowing we did everything in our power to give Democrats a level playing field in the fight for House control.
OPTION 2: WE GET COMPLACENT
We could blow this opportunity by letting the GOP get away with unchecked gerrymandering. And if Democrats narrowly lose the House majority, we’ll look back and wonder if we could have done more.
