Today, we wanted to highlight the Big Gay Church Brunch hosted at the West Virginia Black Pride Foundation, one of our mini-grantees. 🌈

Hosted by Justice & Jubilee, who are part of the West Virginia Faith Coalition (another Groundwork Grantee!), this event was inspired by a queer woman who was looking for an LGBTQ-friendly church but didn't know how to connect with one — something that can be a rarity in states where anti-LGBTQ lawmakers are openly attacking the queer community.

Because of folks like you pitching in, we’re able to sustain and expand our Organizer Grant Program that helps our partners host events that respond to the community’s needs — like the Big Gay Church Brunch, which was a huge success!

Families, neighbors, and clergy members from four faith traditions gathered for music, food, and fun.

Some even traveled as far as 2 ½ hours to attend, showing just how meaningful community events like the Big Gay Church Brunch are to folks living in areas that may not be entirely LGBTQ-friendly.

Folks, we’re dedicated to investing in places traditionally overlooked, creating long-term change through community organizing, and empowering the disenfranchised and underrepresented — and your donations are the fuel that powers this important work and makes events like this possible.

Pitch in today to support community events like this one, voter registration drives, and other organizing efforts happening across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains: [[link removed]]
