Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton acquitted on 16 articles of impeachment

John — Yesterday, I voted to convict Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. 

However, a broken and corrupt system allowed Paxton to abuse the powers of his office. And yesterday, hard-right Republicans decided that it’s okay to take bribes and lie to the public – and he was acquitted.

Texas cannot take any more lies, scams, or neglect from a corrupt GOP that doesn’t care about the people of our state. Our system has been broken by Republicans who are only paying lip service to our families while only looking out for themselves.

If you agree with my vote to convict, I hope you’ll add your name to my petition today calling on him to resign from his role as Texas Attorney General.

In the aftermath of the Uvalde massacre, I saw the same cover-up to protect the failures of Republicans. Texas is riddled with a broken system that can not work for our families.

I am going to fight hard to fix this abuse of power.

Whether it’s Ken Paxton, Greg Abbott, or Ted Cruz, Texas deserves better. We need a new generation of leadership, and that’s why I’m running for U.S. Senate.
