ICYMI: Workers Need Empowerment, Not More Bidenomics Failures

American workers are hurting from a stumbling economy, stubborn inflation, and wages just barely keeping up with everyday price hikes. We don’t need more of the failed labor policies of the past. We need to give workers the freedom and flexibility that will lead to a brighter future.

In case you missed it, I recently penned an op-ed in the New York Post about the Employee Rights Act, legislation I introduced earlier this year that would bring America's labor laws into the 21st century, giving workers full control over their future.

Telephone Town Halls

One of the best ways for me to serve you in Congress is by hearing your thoughts and concerns. Throughout the year, I host live Telephone Town Hall meetings to connect with constituents throughout the 12th District.

These meetings are similar to a traditional town hall meeting but are conducted by phone, where you can dial in from the comfort of your own home. The meetings typically last around one hour, with time for you to ask questions, hear live answers, and participate in a number of poll questions that will aid my decision-making in Washington.

Problems with a federal agency? My staff is here to help. I recently announced Community Office Hours for the month of September. 

Members of my staff will be available this week in Burke, Columbia, Evans, Jefferson, Johnson, Lincoln, Tattnall, and Wilkes counties to assist constituents closer to home with a variety of federal issues, including help navigating various federal agencies such as Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, and others.

Communications and Technology Subcommittee Hearing

“Lights, Camera, Subscriptions: State of the Video Marketplace” 

The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held a hearing to examine the video marketplace. It has been over three decades since the Cable Act was last updated, and the state of the video marketplace has completely changed since then. As Congress reviews federal regulations of the video marketplace, it is important that we look for ways to improve competition in the marketplace and remove redundant regulations, all while protecting local journalism.

Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee Hearing

"The Impact of Biden's Open Border Policies on the American Workforce"

President Biden has presided over the worst influx of illegal immigration in United States history. The HELP Subcommittee heard from a panel of experts on the impact of President Biden's border crisis on the American workforce.

Full Committee Markup

The Education and Workforce Committee marked up nine bills aimed at supporting students, workers, job creators, retirees, and taxpayers.

Included in the markup was my RETIRE Act, which ensures investment fiduciaries may never sacrifice returns, take on additional investment risk, or increase costs to promote goals unrelated to accumulating benefits for retirement.
