They spent 50 years rolling back our rights. Now, they're trying to backpedal.

SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT: A new project from EMILYs List

GOP Reportedly Trying to Find More Palatable Ways to Say They Oppose Reproductive Freedom [Rolling Stone, 9/08/23]Republicans are trying to find a new term for 'pro-life' to stave off more electoral losses [NBC News, 9/07/23] Republicans are attempting to rebrand the anti-abortion movement -- and it's even more terrifying [The Independent 9/09/23] Their message is changing. Their views are as extreme as ever. We're setting the record straight.

John,

Republicans spent 50 years fighting to destroy our fundamental rights. For five decades, they schemed and strategized to fill our courts with anti-choice judges, our legislatures with anti-choice politicians, and our media with anti-choice propaganda.

They passed laws, based on nothing but dangerous junk science, that shuttered abortion clinics. They funded so-called "crisis pregnancy centers" that prey on vulnerable women. They exploited every possible loophole to restrict as many abortions as possible — until they didn't have to anymore. Because last year, their stolen, conservative-majority Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to abortion.

Republicans are now free to ban abortion wherever they hold power. And that's exactly what they've done, despite the fact that the majority of Americans still support the right to choose.

So now, voters are rejecting these anti-choice extremists and their draconian policies at the ballot box, and GOP politicians are scrambling to shift their message. They're trying to quietly slink away from their anti-choice rhetoric, to deceive voters, to convince us that their views aren't so extreme after all. So, John, we're launching a new project to set the record straight.

We're raising $75,000 in a 72-hour Flash Fund to help support Democratic pro-choice women who can CALL OUT these lying Republicans — and beat them on Election Day. If you're as angry as we are, and as determined to make sure anti-choice extremists get their comeuppance at the ballot box, donate to support our Set the Record Straight series today:
