Athough Remember a Charity Week is coming to a close, there's still plenty of time to learn about how leaving a gift in your will can help protect Indigenous peoples' lands and lives for generationsGuarani elder and children, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. © Survival

Dear Jack,

It’s the final day of Remember a Charity Week, but the opportunity to learn more
about leaving a gift in your will does not expire at midnight! You can head to
our legacy webpage whenever suits you, and I’m always happy to provide more
information and answer any questions – just get in touch at [email protected] [[email protected]] .

In the first half of this year, around one quarter of the income we received
came from gifts in wills. These gifts helped us launch three brand-new campaigns
– to fight against greenwashing projects that violate tribal peoples’ rights
while pretending to fight climate change, and to protect the lands of the
uncontacted Hongana Manyawa and Shompen tribes.

These gifts have also helped us win: after we and our allies campaigned against
a draft law in Peru that would have overturned the rights of uncontacted
peoples, the proposed law was dropped.

A gift in your will doesn’t have to be big – any amount can go a huge way in
sustaining our work alongside tribal peoples to protect their lands and lives.
Pledging a legacy of any size to Survival is a powerful way to protect human
rights, and our planet, beyond your lifetime.

"Survival understands that tribal peoples are the best and first custodians of
our vulnerable earth, and that the conservation work must begin with them. It is
the only organisation whose work truly combines saving people with saving the
planet." – Jenny, Legacy Pledger

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support – in any
capacity – of the global movement for Indigenous and tribal peoples’ rights. It
is only thanks to you that we are able to continue our work for tribes, for
nature, for all humanity.

Best wishes,

Louisa Leslie
