VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump descends into visible confusion on stage during rally
In his latest gaffe-laden speech, the disgraced ex-president served up a self-own for the ages, warning that "cognitively impaired" President Joe Biden could lead the country into "World War TWO" if he wins re-election. "Just think of it. We would be in World War TWO very quickly if we’re going to be relying on this man, and far more devastating than any war," Trump said out loud with his own mouth into a microphone in front of people and rolling cameras. Directly after rewriting perhaps the largest chapter in world history from the last 100 years, Trump then appeared to suggest he was polling far better than Barack Obama — who is definitely not running for a third term, because, well you know, he legally cannot do so — in his quest to retake the White House next year. A very stable and in no way cognitively impaired genius!

Texas Republicans acquit Ken Paxton, place him above the law
Ken Paxton, the criminally corrupt attorney general of Texas, was just acquitted by a jury of very-right-wing peers in his historic impeachment trial, proving that, for Republicans, a man with the right politics simply cannot break the law, piles of evidence and common sense be damned.

UAW Rips GM and Ford for laying off workers amid historic strike
Shawn Fain, the president of the United Auto Workers, condemned Ford and General Motors on Saturday after the companies said they plan to temporarily lay off thousands of nonstriking employees, blaming the union's walkouts at two plants in Michigan and Ohio. Fain called the layoffs completely unnecessary — and an obvious attempt by Ford and General Motors to "put the squeeze on our members to settle for less."

The state of California has filed an historic lawsuit against ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, ConocoPhillips, and Chevron, accusing the five oil and gas giants of a decadeslong campaign to mislead the public about the catastrophic threat fossil fuels pose to the climate. The lawsuit makes California the largest economy on the planet to take legal action against fossil fuel companies over their efforts to deceive the world about their destructive — and immensely profitable — business model.
Florida Republicans scrap loyalty pledge to eventual presidential nominee
In a big win for the serially indicted court jester of Mar-a-Lago, the Republican Party of Florida voted Friday to abandon a rule adopted earlier this year requiring all 2024 presidential hopefuls to pledge support to the eventual nominee if they want to appear on March 19 primary ballots in the state. Trump had loudly refused to sign any such pledge, because, well, he's a "party of one" kinda guy, and there's simply no room for anyone else at that table, folks.

Vivek Ramaswamy wants to end the H-1B visa program he used 29 times
GOP candidate and dissed Eminem fanboy Vivek Ramaswamy has vowed to “gut” the system for H-1B temporary worker visas shoud he somehow incomprehensibly win the White House. Fun fact: Vivek used the very program in question dozens of times in the past to hire high-skilled foreign workers for the pharma company that built much of his wealth. The program was perfectly serviceable when Vivek needed it, but apparently "bad for everyone involved" now. Government programs for me, bootstraps for thee!
