Andrew, New York Members and Senators Push To Help Close World Trade Center Health Program Funding Gap In Final NDAA

On the heels of 9/11, Andrew co-led a letter with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand urging the inclusion of funding for the World Trade Center Health Program, which provides medical care, screenings, and monitoring for over 124,000 9/11 first responders, in the final version of the fiscal year 24 National Defense Authorization Act. The letter says in part, "Those who need this program should not have to live in fear that it could run out of funding and go over a cliff. We will continue fighting until these heroic men and women can rest assured this program will always be there for them." Read more here.

CASEWORK HIGHLIGHT: Securing Answers For Army Reserve Veteran

A constituent was seeking Pre-Need Determination of Eligibility for Burial in a VA National Cemetery following 28 years of Army Reserve service. After submitting the appropriate paperwork, and waiting for a response, he learned that the form had been updated and feared his previous application had been discarded. The constituent resubmitted the paperwork but after several months still hadn't received a response. Andrew's casework team was able to contact the United States National Cemetery's Eligibility Verification Division and confirm that the constituent and his wife were entitle for burial in the National Cemetery.
