On September 17th each year, we celebrate the United States Constitution!
THIS DAY IN HISTORY
Signing the United States Constitution

September 17th is celebrated in America each year in recognition of the signing of the US Constitution by 39 individuals<[link removed]> on that day in 1787.
In an attempt to solve the flaws in the Articles of Confederation<[link removed]>, in the late spring of 1787<[link removed]>, 55 delegates met at the State House in Philadelphia. (This building was known as Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence had been signed 11 years earlier.) Here, these men drafted a new form of government.

The Constitution was signed on September 17th<[link removed]> and was then sent to the states to be ratified<[link removed]>. It became the law of the land on June 21, 1788.
The Framers of the Constitution<[link removed]> deliberately incorporated many Biblical principles in the Constitution, so it is not surprising that they also openly acknowledged Godโ€™s hand in the creation of the final document. For example, Alexander Hamilton said<[link removed]>:

For my own part, I sincerely esteem it a system which without the finger of God never could have been suggested and agreed upon by such a diversity of interests.

James Madison agreed<[link removed]>:

It is impossible for the man of pious reflection not to perceive in it the finger of the Almighty Hand which has been so frequently and signally extended to our relief in the critical stages of the Revolution.
Other delegates, such as Benjamin Franklin<[link removed]> and George Washington<[link removed]>, also expressed similar convictions.

Take time today to read the Constitution<[link removed]> with your family. Happy Constitution Day!
