Today Texas Senate Republicans demonstrated that bowing to political pressure is more important than upholding, ethics and integrity, and the rule of law. I am proud of the courage that the Texas house demonstrated to hold our elected officials accountable for ethical behavior and upholding their oath of office. My vote to impeach Paxton was the single greatest vote I’ve ever taken. As an early leader in the fight to hold Paxton accountable, I am deeply disappointed.
Unfortunately in the Senate, extremist republicans waged a significant political war with threats of primary challenges, loss of political funding and election interference if they failed to acquit the Attorney General. This is a sad day in our Texas history and unfortunately sends a message that corruption will be tolerated in Texas politics.
But let me be crystal clear: my commitment to combating corruption remains unshakable. Not in Texas, not in Congress, nowhere. I'm resolute in my dedication to this cause.
With that in mind, can you chip in $32 or whatever you can afford for my Congressional campaign in TX-32?
