Jack, I'll start with the bad news first: A Trump-appointed federal judge ruled against the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program Wednesday night—reaffirming his 2011 decision to shut down the successful Obama-era program to new applicants.
Here's the good news: DACA remains open for renewals while it goes through the appeals process. Now is the time to protect those we can from deportation.
Please rush a $5 donation to United We Dream's DACA Renewal Fund to ensure current DACA recipients can renew their status before it’s too late.

Nearly 700,000 young immigrants are currently enrolled in DACA. By every measure, the program has been a resounding success amid congressional inaction. DACA recipients have pursued education and careers, raised families, and served in the military and on the frontlines of the pandemic.
Our fight may eventually head to the Supreme Court, where we’ve won before. However, we cannot take anything for granted. Without DACA, undocumented youth in most states will not be able to hold a job, acquire a driver’s license or other government-issued IDs, receive in-state tuition, and more. That’s why it's critical that we ensure every DACA recipient renews their status while they still can.
Make no mistake, Jack, your contribution to the DACA Renewal Fund has a human impact. 100% of your donation will go directly towards protecting DACA recipients from deportation so they are protected as we continue to fight for a pathway to citizenship and humane immigration reform.
The DACA application fee alone costs $495. I’m personally asking you to contribute $5, or whatever is meaningful to you, to the DACA renewal fund today.
