I wanted to take a moment to write to you about my good friend and colleague from the state next door, Minnesota Senator Tina Smith.
Tina is up for re-election this year, and hers is a must-win seat if Democrats want to flip the Senate. But Minnesota is a top target for Republicans, especially since Donald Trump lost the state by just 1.5 points in 2016. There is a very real chance he could flip Minnesota red this time around.
We know this fight all too well in Wisconsin. Trump won our state by less than a percentage point in 2016, but then we came back and won our race by double digits in 2018 — proving Democrats have what it takes to win.
Now, here’s the problem: Trump is sending Mike Pence to Wisconsin and Minnesota next week to fire up their right-wing base and turn the Midwest red again. We can’t let it happen.
So, I'm personally asking each and every one of you to rally behind Tina or she could lose this race, we could lose our shot at taking back the Senate, and Trump could win both of our states. Rush a donation of $10 or more to prevent this worst-case scenario.

Pence’s visit is a sure sign of trouble because it comes on the heels of the Trump campaign dumping resources into Minnesota and the GOP announcing they have more than $200 million on hand to defeat Democrats like Tina.
Listen, if they win the Midwest, they win the White House again. That’s the whole ballgame. We have no choice but to stop them.
That’s why I’ll be heading to Minnesota tomorrow to help my friend Tina hold down the fort over there and make sure her state doesn’t flip red. I’ll also be working my tail off to make sure Wisconsin doesn’t go to Trump again. But I need your help.
