Since I joined this race last month, the most common question I get from folks on the trail is: “Why did you decide to run for office?”

I get it — I am a Louisiana lawyer (and a dang good one at that!) who’s been doing what I do best for years. I’m not a politician, but I threw my hat into the ring for a reason — this fight is personal to me.

In all of Louisiana’s history, there has never been a female AG. Let that sink in for a moment.

We live in a world where women’s rights and freedoms have constantly been undermined by self-interested leaders, and it’s time we have a woman in charge who’s going to put our needs above all else. And that’s going to be me.

Women and girls deserve better. As your AG, I’ll hold bad actors who seek to marginalize women accountable and restore decency to the office — just like I’ve done as a lawyer.
