Today is National Working Parents Day — a day to celebrate moms, dads, and parental figures who work hard outside the home to provide for and nurture their children.

As a mom of four kids, I know how difficult it is to balance a career and the responsibilities that come with being a parent. And I know that for too many parents, especially mothers, this challenge is only exacerbated by the crushing cost of childcare.

In America, no parent should have to choose between putting food on the table or keeping the lights on — full stop.

Thanks to Democrats’ American Rescue Plan Act , we delivered $24 billion in vital aid to help more than 200,000 child care providers keep their doors open to as many as 9.5 million children, lowering costs for families and helping parents stay at their jobs.

But unfortunately, these funds are set to expire this month. That’s why I introduced the Child Care for Every Community Act — which would continue delivering much-needed funds to child care providers and ensure no family pays more than 7% of their income in child care.

Folks, parents across the country are counting on us to get this bill across the finish line. But with extremist Republicans running the House majority, doing this will be no easy feat — and that’s why I’m asking for your help.
