Living a life of service is personal to me, John. It’s why I joined the United States Marine Corps the day I graduated from college. I wanted to give back and defend the greatest country in the world.

John, I ran for Congress because I was tired of leaving our national security to career politicians who failed to defend our values. It was time for a new generation of conservative leaders to take the reins and protect our freedoms.

During my seven years of active duty, I had the honor of serving as a counterintelligence officer and regional affairs officer for the Middle East and North Africa.
I had the opportunity to deploy to Iraq twice as a commander of intelligence teams.
When I came home, I worked with General Petraeus’ Central Command Assessment Team in the Middle East and various intelligence agencies, all with the same goal: protecting American sovereignty.
