Friends With Four Paws in Oklahoma City is one of the many organizations that benefit from your generous donations. The dedicated volunteers at the rescue save dogs from a variety of troubling situations, and they help these dogs get a second chance at life.
Some of the rescue’s recent intakes include nine dogs that were saved from a horrific puppy mill. The puppy mill had 36 dogs locked in a U-Haul without food or water. The U-Haul was over 100 degrees when the dogs were saved, and they had only been used to breed puppies for profit their whole lives. At least one of the Schnauzers is pregnant, and she and her fellow breeding dogs are receiving love and proper care for the first time in their lives.
Another recent intake includes kittens and Chihuahua puppies, who were raised together. They lived in poor conditions inside a hoarder-type home. The puppies and puppy mill dogs were taken in on top of the ongoing dogs arriving at the rescue. Many dogs are surrendered to the rescue when their humans can no longer care for them, including an Aussie puppy named Sunny. Sunny’s humans thought she had too much energy, so they locked her outside in a crate 24/7.
