nflation rose by an annual rate of 3.7% in August amid higher gasoline prices, marking the second consecutive month of rising costs. 

The Consumer Price Index, which tracks a basket of goods and services typically purchased by consumers, increased 0.6% from July, the Labor Department said Thursday. On an annual basis, the increase was higher than economists' forecast of 3.6%, according to FactSet.

1.) Supports House Resolution from Rep. Newhouse (R-WA) condemning the actions of New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for her “emergency public health order” last Friday that suspends, for 30 days, the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and the surrounding county, including roads, sidewalks, and parks. Violators would face civil penalties and up to $5,000 in fines.
 
2.) Cosponsored legislation to block federal funds for a recent ATF proposed rule redefining the definition of who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms. The redefinition would likely result in private individuals being required to register for a Federal Firearms License to sell a firearm from their personal collection. That requirement is currently only for those “engaged in the business” of selling firearms for their primary source of income.
 
3.) Joined Rep. Keith Self's (R-TX) letter to ATF Director Dettelbach opposing the ATF rule on who is “engaged in the business” as described above.
