The last year has been really difficult, John.
I've watched for months as the Senate has refused to vote on a universal background checks bill. It's agonizing because I know the price of inaction – it's precious lives like my sweet little Daniel's.
Every day the Senate stalls, more parents like me are having to bury their children. More mothers and fathers are feeling the relentless despair that comes with losing a child to gun violence.
I just can't accept that. My family will be shattered forever by Daniel's murder, but we can prevent other families from living through this horror if we act right now.
We set a goal to raise $125,000 before midnight to ramp up pressure on the Senate to finally pass universal background checks, but we're still falling short and running out of time. So I'm asking for your help: For Daniel, for every life lost to gun violence and for the children we can still save, can I count on you to donate now to help us close the gap?
Please click here to donate $10, or as much as you can, to Sandy Hook Promise before midnight. Your support today will help make sure we finally pass universal background checks and prevent more tragedies before they happen.

This work is emotionally draining, but I will always push through because I don't want any other parent to get the horrific news that their child is never coming home. And if we wait until the next tragedy to take action, it will be too late.
What gives me hope is seeing more people like you stepping up to help make gun violence prevention a priority. In critical moments like this, that support really does mean so much. I'm incredibly grateful for all you do.
