After delivering on our progressive values - reducing violent crime by 31% while reducing the jail population - the national GOP has targeted Loudoun County as their bellwether for a suburban comeback.
They've turned their attention to me because I was the first woman ever elected, the first Democrat to win the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office in 24 years and one of the first Muslim-American prosecutors in Virginia history – all in a rapidly growing and diversifying county.
I have relentlessly opposed the efforts of Governor Youngkin and MAGA Republicans who are determined to assert their will and undermine the historic progress we have made.
We cannot let the MAGA Republicans turn back the clock on the many progressive achievements we’ve made here in Loudoun:

increased
the
services
to
survivors
of
Domestic
Violence
and
Sexual
Assaults.
*
We
tripled
the
number
of
attorneys
on
the
Special
Victims
Unit.
*
We
focused
on
recidivism
and
prevented
repeat
offenses.
*
We
added
a
Veterans
Treatment
Docket.
*
We
expanded
the
Drug
and
Mental
Health
Courts.
*
We
lowered
the
daily
jail
count,
saving
millions
of
taxpayer
dollars.
If Republicans get their way, we'll go back to the criminal justice policies of the 90’s.
When my MAGA opponent last held this office 25 years ago, he pushed for outdated policies that neglected victim support, burdened taxpayers and did little to deter repeat offenses.
