Hello, Friends —
Earlier this year on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, the whole world witnessed a historic contest for Speaker of the House. After more than a dozen rounds of balloting, House Conservatives made an agreement with Kevin McCarthy to allow him to wield the gavel. In exchange, the House would hold votes on term limits for members of Congress, a balanced budget, and single subject appropriations bills to reign in uncontrolled government spending. Additionally, Speaker McCarthy would release all January 6 tapes. So far, Republican leadership has fallen short of every aspect of our deal.

I know Washington isn't a town where people are known for keeping their word. Congress has been infested with lawmakers who promise their voters they will bring about meaningful change. More often than not, members of Congress turn the votes they receive into a knife and stab their constituents in the back. I will concede that the series of votes I have called for will likely fail; Term limits, balanced budgets, and maybe even impeachment. While I am prepared for that eventuality, at least if we take votes, the American people will see who is fighting for them and who is willing to tolerate more corruption and business as usual.
REP. GAETZ ATTENDS JANUARY 6th VIGIL FOR MISTREATED PRISONERS

On Thursday, I attended the nightly January 6th vigil outside the DC Central Detention Facility, where I pledged to continue fighting for the full release of the January 6th tapes that Speaker McCarthy promised to the country.
It deeply troubles me that Americans are being forced to endure a two-tiered justice system. I was honored to have the chance to talk with one of these mistreated prisoners and let him know there are a group of us who have not forgotten about them. I must do more. Congress must do more.
REP. GAETZ BLASTS BIDEN ADMIN'S MONITORING OF ILLEGAL ALIENS AFTER OFFICER'S NEAR DEATH
On Monday, I sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas regarding the Biden Administration's negligent monitoring of illegal aliens in the United States following the near death of a Virginia police officer.
On August 19, 2023, an illegal alien known by DHS, Yacarely Diaz-Castro, was driving intoxicated and crashed into a police officer conducting a traffic stop in Chesapeake, Virginia, sending the officer over the guardrail and causing critical injuries to his body. Ms. Diaz-Castro entered the United States illegally seven months ago and allegedly claims to have received a "Notice to Report" Form I-385. My letter highlights the abject failure of the Biden Administration's ability to follow through with the removal of illegal aliens and requests specific answers regarding DHS' knowledge of Ms. Diaz-Castro be provided to my office by October 2, 2023.
This isn't just about one individual case. The broader implication is about our sacred duty to protect our homeland and the safety of the American people. When we allow the tides of unchecked immigration to sweep through our nation, we are not merely failing in our duties — we are betraying the American people. We must start putting the American people first.

'Out Of Compliance': Matt Gaetz Slams McCarthy On House Floor, Threatens Motion To Vacate The Chair
"'We demand real oversight against this weaponized government. Just look at the bribery. If 10s of millions of dollars flowing from foreign corrupt people into the bank accounts of the Biden family wasn't enough for actual impeachment, why were we even looking? Joe Biden deserves impeachment for converting the vice presidency into an ATM machine for virtually his entire family. We all see it. We all know it,' Gaetz continued."
