Dear Friends,
I returned to Washington, DC with Congress officially back in session. We have limited time, but I'm hard at work with my colleagues to deliver for our communities, pass vital legislation, and fund our government.
September 16th Government Resource Fair

Please join my office for a Government Resource Fair in Matteson, from 10:00AM-2:00PM, at 20600 Matteson Ave, Matteson IL 60443. This event will be held at Colin Powell Middle School, during Elementary School District 159 and the Matteson Community Center's Matteson Community Health and Appreciation Fair.
As a part of the event, the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State will be providing the following services:
- Driver's License (Renewal, Duplicate, Corrected)
- State Identification Card (First time, Renewal, Duplicate, Corrected)
- Vehicle Registration Stickers (Registration expiring within the current year)
- Organ & Tissue Donor/Voter Registration (Only with License or ID Application)

FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Now Open in Calumet City
A temporary FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is now open in Calumet City to help residents with recovery efforts after the June 29 – July 2 storms. Residents can also apply for assistance by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov.
Flossmoor Road Viaduct Stormwater Improvement Project

I toured the Flossmoor Road Viaduct Stormwater Improvement Project site to see the progress the village is making on this essential project. This technology will improve our communities and support the health of our planet. I am working to see more projects like this one implemented in our communities.
Celebrating 50 Years of Hip-Hop
I joined my colleagues and artists to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop has given a voice to the voiceless and empowered generations of Black Americans. While some officials want to erase Black history, I'm working to protect this important piece of the American story.
