My work in TX-31 and Congress Howdy Texan – The House was back in session this week, so I wanted to update you on my work in DC on behalf of Texas' 31st district. ON THE DOCKET: Impeachment Inquiry What do you think? Holding the VA and Contractors Accountable Texas A&M University- Medical School THE BRIEF: A Texas federal judge ruled that a revised version of a national policy that prevents the deportation of hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, known as DACA, is illegal. Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a new interview that he has "lots of regrets" about how the United States 20-year conflict in Afghanistan ended Wholesale inflation unexpectedly surged in August, leaving Americans grappling with rising costs. IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY LAUNCHED This week, Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that the House would launch an impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden. This is an important step in investigating allegations that President Biden traded access to himself as Vice President to enrich his family financially. I fully support this impeachment inquiry. The American people deserve accountability and transparency. This inquiry will provide both. The House Oversight Committee has made critical pieces of evidence available for the American people to review and decide for themselves: Timeline of Important Events Bank Records Memo Biden Family Investigation Report House Oversight Committee Investigation WHAT DO YOU THINK? Do you support the impeachment inquiry of President Biden? Yes, I support it No, I don't support it HOLDING THE VA AND CONTRACTORS ACCOUNTABLE This week, I held an oversight hearing on the Department of Veterans Affairs' electronic health modernization initiative. America's veterans deserve seamless health care, and America's taxpayers deserve a quality return on their investment. As chairman of this committee, I'm devoted to ensuring both. During the hearing, the committee questioned witnesses about measurable goals and future funding needs and asked for an explanation of past issues that have delayed the implementation of an electronic health records system. I want to see this system done and done well as soon as possible. TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE Texas A&M School of Medicine Dean Amy Waer sat down with me to discuss the work that the school is doing and its two campuses in Texas' 31st district. We had a productive conversation about the physician workforce and healthcare access for Texans. Within the next twelve years, America is poised to see a significant doctor shortage, so access to quality education like Texas A&M School of Medicine will be vital in combatting this issue. As always, thank you for taking the time to stay updated on what's happening in Texas' 31st congressional district. Follow my Facebook and Twitter accounts for more updates. Representing you and Texas in the United States House is an honor and privilege. Sincerely, John R. Carter Visit our website! WC Willamson County 4411 S I 35 Frontage Rd.
