Friend,

We had a very productive district work period hosting seven in-person town halls and completing another 22 County Tour to hear from Iowans. I heard one message loud and clear: Bidenomics is not working and Iowans are frustrated by the Administration’s out of touch agenda.

Bad energy policy is at the heart of Bidenomics. Energy costs are a primary driver of inflation – if fuel costs more, everything costs more. Families, businesses of all sizes, and community organizations are feeling this pain. Yet Biden continues to double down on his America last energy policy.

Last week, he continued his war on domestic energy by eliminating oil and gas leases in Alaska. This move will squash viable domestic energy production, diminish our energy security, and ensure fuel prices remain high. On top of this, he wants to mandate that 67% of new cars be electric by 2032. Talk about out of touch.

As gas prices rise once again, Iowans have had enough of Biden's nonsensical energy agenda. I am continuing to call for an all of the above energy strategy to restore American energy independence and lower fuel costs. This includes:

  • Making the year-round sale of E15 permanent by passing the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act. Expanding the use of biofuels is the fastest way to lower fuel prices and replenish our fuel supply!
  • Passing H.R.1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, to increase domestic production, reform the permitting process, and streamline energy projects.
  • Preventing President Biden from enforcing his electric vehicle mandate by passing the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act.
  • Resuming drilling and unleashing oil and gas leases on federal lands rather than unnecessarily draining our Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).

I will continue reaching out to Iowans about day-to-day challenges and pushing for an all of the above energy strategy to restore our energy independence, promote economic growth nationwide, and lower costs.

Best,

Remembering 9/11

It was deeply moving to be at the 9/11 Memorial earlier this week to commemorate the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. We remember the lives lost and honor the heroes that ran toward danger to save others, as well as those who stepped up to defend our freedoms in the aftermath of 9/11.

We will never forget. God Bless the USA.

Protecting American Workers from China

China's deceptive economic and trade practices have lowered wages, hurt our farmers, and jeopardized our national security. I joined the Select Committee on Competition with China to discuss ways we can strategically decouple our economy from China's and level the playing field for American workers and businesses. Watch the full clip here.
