The Devastating Human Costs of the Biden-Mayorkas Border Crisis The crisis at our southern border has undoubtedly become a racket that was sanctioned and created by the Biden administration. In this week’s Homeland Security Committee hearing, I had the opportunity to question Tim Ballard — a former special agent for the Department of Homeland Security, where he was assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force — on the devastating human costs of the Biden-Mayorkas border crisis. We are witnessing one of the worst human trafficking events of my lifetime, and Secretary Mayorkas is complicit. Tim Ballard — who was also the inspiration for the movie Sound of Freedom — agreed with me. My full exchange with Tim Ballard can be found below: Click to watch President Biden Impeachment Inquiry This week, Speaker McCarthy officially launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. I personally have serious concerns about what foreign policy decisions may have been impacted by foreign wire transfers to the Biden family. And as a former federal prosecutor, I believe there's enough predication to open an investigation. I talked more about this on Fox News with Neil Cavuto: Click to watch Concern About the White House's Iran Hostage Deal This week, the anniversary of 9/11, the Biden administration waived sanctions to allow the transfer of frozen funds for Iran as part of the hostage release deal. The Americans held by Iran are innocent hostages who must be released immediately and unconditionally. However, I remain deeply concerned that the administration’s decision to waive sanctions to facilitate the transfer of $6 billion in funds for Iran — the world’s top state sponsor of terrorism — creates a direct incentive for America’s adversaries to conduct future hostage-taking. The Biden administration’s continued display of weakness only further endangers Americans and freedom-loving people around the world. I am extremely concerned the Biden administration may have brokered an informal nuclear deal with Iran, without notifying Congress — in violation of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. Time and again, this administration has demonstrated weakness with Iran, which only encourages aggression. I’m demanding answers and a change of course in the way this administration is dealing with Iran. To hear my full remarks, click below: Click to watch I also spoke on the house floor about my bipartisan Fight CRIME Act, which imposes sanctions on anyone who does business with Iran's missile and drone programs. With the United Nation’s restrictions on Iran’s missiles and drones set to expire next month, we need to send a clear message to the international community that buying Iran’s missiles and drones guarantees they will face repercussions — such as being frozen out of the United States financial system, denied use of the United States dollar, and denied access to the United States. Furthering My Afghanistan Withdrawal Investigation As my committee continues investigating the failed Afghanistan withdrawal, it is crucial we hear from those who were acting as the voice of the administration. This week, I requested transcribed interviews of the administration's top 3 spokespeople during the withdrawal and evacuation, including White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. The rosy messages these individuals conveyed to the American people throughout August 2021 vastly differed from the scene playing out on the ground. It’s time for them to come forward and give our Gold Star families — and the American people — the answers they desperately want and deserve. Read more here. ICYMI: Rep.
