Yesterday, I introduced a House Resolution to condemn New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for her "emergency public health order" that prohibits the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and its surrounding county, including city sidewalks and parks. Violators of this unconstitutional order face civil penalties and fines up to $5,000.

The Governor’s action should send a chill up every American’s spine as it strips away the protection of individual rights and freedom, which sets a dangerous precedent for the rights of Central Washingtonians and Americans across our nation.

If elected officials see the rights embedded in the Constitution as suggestions rather than guarantees, what rights will the federal government go after next?

This week, I joined the House Committee on Natural Resource's Oversight and Investigations hearing which examined the systematic overreach of the Biden Administration's Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) to address the lack of transparency throughout the mediation process of the Four Lower Snake River Dams.

Throughout the CEQ's process, there has been zero-transparency—no public hearings or opportunity to provide input.

It is imperative that Central Washingtonians are heard on an issue that directly affects them, but as of yet, the only voices represented are those who support breaching. Make no mistake, this is nothing more than collusion and weaponization of the judicial system to advocate for a de-facto breach.

I have been resolute in my commitment to protect the Lower Snake River Dams and remain committed to combatting the ill-informed to safeguard the future prosperity of Central Washington.

This week, I introduced the Withdrawing Absurd, Senseless, and Haphazard Energy Regulations (WASHER) Act to stop federal overreach from interfering with Central Washingtonians' everyday lives.

Back in March, the Biden Administration proposed a new regulation which would require new washing machines to use less water at lower temperatures.

Simply put, this means each laundry cycle would take longer, families would spend more on detergent, and clothing would be dirtier. With Bidenflation skyrocketing, we just cannot afford this draconian new Department of Energy rule.

Whether it be washing machines, gas stoves, or dishwashers, make no mistake—the Biden Administration wants to make your appliances less efficient and more expensive.

I am proud to introduce this legislation to stop the outrageous energy standards proposed by the Biden Administration and protect Americans’ wallets, time, and freedom. Central Washingtonians and the American people are tired of the government trying to overregulate our lives instead of focusing on solutions that will truly benefit our energy future.

Thanks to the Hanford cleanup team, they are making significant progress in treating the tank waste on an industrial scale.

The conversations we have here are vital to the future of this mission, and it’s crucial we continue them to exchange ideas and learn about the opportunities to clean up our nuclear sites while reinvigorating our nation’s nuclear industry.
