Dear Friend,
After a month of work in the district, members of Congress returned to Washington this week, and House Republicans wasted no time on getting to work.
On Tuesday, Speaker Kevin McCarthy officially launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. This comes after multiple whistleblowers came forward to uncover serious and credible allegations that the Biden family engaged in a disturbing pattern of corruption.
So, what is an inquiry and what is the evidence?
This formal inquiry, which will be led by the House Oversight and Accountability, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committees, gives each of these committees broader power to seek documents and testimony from the Biden family. This will allow House Republicans to gather all the facts to determine if Joe Biden engaged in abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption.
Through House Republicans’ investigations, we have uncovered mounting evidence that Joe Biden was involved in his family’s influence-peddling schemes. While I won’t cover all of the evidence below, you can click here for 20 examples of Joe Biden’s involvement.
For starters, the House has proven that President Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family’s foreign business dealings.
Back in 2019, Joe Biden said, "I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
However, that was a lie.
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, testified under oath that Joe Biden was on 20 phone calls with Hunter’s foreign business associates. Bank records also show that Joe Biden attended dinners with foreign oligarchs who paid huge sums of money to Hunter Biden.
Archer also testified that Hunter Biden was selling "the brand," and that it was Joe Biden who "brought the most value to the brand.”
Therefore, just from that information, House Republicans exposed that Joe Biden was aware of his family’s foreign business dealings, and he was “the brand” to close these deals.
But that’s not all.
House Republicans also revealed that the Biden family received at least $20 million from China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania and created over 20 shell companies to conceal the money.
In fact, U.S. banks have flagged more than 150 suspicious activity reports on Hunter Biden and other Biden family members for their shady foreign business deals.
Now, how has Joe Biden tried to obstruct the House Republican’s investigation?
Back when Joe Biden was Vice President, he set up at least three aliases – Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, and JRB Ware – to send emails. He also used code names, such as “the Big Guy.”
In June, an IRS whistleblower came forward to allege that the DOJ interfered and prevented leads into Joe Biden during Hunter’s tax investigation. Whistleblower Shapley said, “There were certain investigative steps we weren’t allowed to take that could have led us to President Biden.”
And this week, the White House sent a memo to mainstream media outlets requesting that they “ramp up scrutiny” of the House impeachment inquiry.
Now, I don’t know about you, but if Joe Biden has nothing to hide, why did he set up fake aliases, get the DOJ to interfere in an investigation, and intimidate the media to scrutinize our inquiry?
The bottom line is that the American people deserve transparency on whether Joe Biden abused public office for his family’s financial gain, and House Republicans are committed to delivering that.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany Member of Congress

ACRES Act passes House
This week, the House of Representatives passed my bill – the ACRES Act – with overwhelming bipartisan support. After investigative reporting found that agencies, like the U.S. Forest Service, have been overstating their fuel reduction work by over 20%, I introduced the ACRES Act to hold federal land management agencies accountable in the work they are doing to reduce the amount of fuel for wildfires on public lands. Decades of mismanagement of our federal lands have left our forests overstocked with trees and created tinderbox conditions. There is a better and more active way to manage our public lands, and that starts with holding our federal land mangers accountable. Accurate reporting is necessary to track the progress made on larger wildfire mitigation targets, as mismanagement can lead to catastrophic wildfires, like California's Caldor Fire that burned for two months and scorched more than 200,000 acres. American taxpayers deserve to know they are getting what they paid for, and the ACRES Act helps ensure that happens. This bill now heads over to the Senate where I hope this commonsense legislation is acted upon and brought to the President’s desk to sign into law soon. You can learn more about the bill here.
Fighting the “Made in China” fentanyl crisis
It’s no secret that President Biden’s open border policies have made the already dire opioid epidemic in the United States even worse. Transnational drug cartels based in Mexico have jumped to take advantage of the Biden administration’s intentional refusal to secure the border or enforce our immigration laws, resulting in a record tidal wave of dangerous drugs flooding into American communities. But there is another culprit – one that hasn’t received nearly as much attention: Communist China. In fact, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency, China is “the main source for all fentanyl-related substances trafficked into the United States.” That’s why this week I joined my colleague Rep. Andy Ogles (TN-05) in introducing legislation that would take aim at those complicit in the production and shipment of this poison into our country: Chinese Communist Party officials. This legislation would hit China’s rulers where it hurts – by imposing property-blocking sanctions and making them inadmissible to the United States. You can read more about the bill here, and see what I had to say about it here.
Americans should choose their car, not the government
No American should be forced to buy expensive electric vehicles. Yet, that’s exactly what the Biden administration and states, like California, are doing. California has asked Biden’s EPA to approve a plan for only electric or electric hybrid vehicles to be sold in the state by 2035. That means that gas and diesel-powered vehicles would not be available for purchase in California come 2035, and given that the state has a large market share for vehicle sales, it would likely impact all states as vehicle manufactures would shift their focus to EVs. But the good news is that this week the House passed the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act to stop states and the Biden administration from banning combustion engines. Americans should be in charge of their car choices, not the government, and this bill ensures free market competition. In fact, it even passed with bipartisan support as eight Democrats joined Republicans. You can view the vote total here.
WMEP Manufacturing Solutions
I had a great time discussing the importance of expanding manufacturing opportunities in Wisconsin with Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP) Manufacturing Solutions earlier this week. The manufacturing industry is critical to Wisconsin’s local economy and workforce and employs nearly 472,000 individuals. WMEP actively works with manufacturers across the state to provide solutions to any existing or future challenges that they may face.
Thanks to WMEP for coming out to D.C. to discuss the importance of Wisconsin manufacturing.
Committee Update
Judiciary
Is Joe Biden’s open borders obsession destroying America?
Yes, but it’s not just Republicans who are speaking out against Joe Biden’s open borders anymore. Last week, the Democrat mayor of NYC said illegal immigrants “will destroy New York City.” You’d think that would make Democrats in Washington reconsider their open border policies that are overwhelming American cities, but unfortunately, you’d be wrong. This week in a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing, Democrats doubled down on their lawless open borders policy. They claimed that Republicans do not have a solution to solve the border crisis, but that’s a lie. Back in May, Republicans passed H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act. This legislation would restart construction of the border wall, end the failed Obama-era “catch and release” mandate where illegals are caught and released into American communities, and increase the number of border patrol agents. In the hearing, I asked a former DHS official if he thought H.R. 2 is a solution to the border crisis, and he immediately responded, “Yes.” You can watch that clip here.
Recent Legislation
Joe Biden’s misfire attack on hunting education programs
This summer, the Department of Education (DOE) announced that their interpretation of a gun control package that passed last year gave them the ability to block funding for schools that offer hunter education and archery programs because they use a “dangerous weapon.” While it is disappointing that Joe Biden is using students as pawns in his misguided crusade against the Second Amendment, it is hardly surprising. Telegram readers may remember just last year when the Department of Agriculture announced its decision to withhold lunch money for disadvantaged students at schools who refused to allow boys in the girls bathroom. President Biden’s push to outlaw these programs will negatively impact millions of students and deprive aspiring young sportsmen and women of the opportunity to learn about hunting and recreational shooting. Earlier this month, I cosponsored H.R. 5110, the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, introduced by my colleague Rep. Mark Green (TN-07) to clear up any “confusion” on the intent of the bill the DOE is using to justify their attack on these programs by specifying that nothing within the bill applies to archery, hunting, or other shooting sports. I’m pleased to report that yesterday our bill passed out of the House Committee on Education unanimously and is one step closer to becoming law.
Blocking future COVID-19 mask mandates
In recent weeks, we have seen mask mandates being reimplemented around the country. This is despite studies showing that masks do little to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our country cannot fall back into its mask mandate mayhem that we saw the last few years. To protect our constitutional freedoms, I helped introduce the House companion bill to Sen. JD Vance’s (R-OH) Freedom to Breathe Act. This legislation would ban federal mask mandates on airplanes, public transportation, and in educational settings. We will not allow unelected bureaucrats to continue imposing the unconstitutional, misguided, and ineffective policies of the past. The American people should have the freedom to make their own choices about whether they wear a mask or not.
